From the EMS Today conference in Baltimore, this episode is a MedicCast and Chris Montera’s EMS Garage crossover live podcast to kickoff a series of shows over the coming days.

In this episode they feature new applications from Zoll, got a chance to interview Kelly Grayson, host of Confessions of an EMS Newbie podcast and Andrew Rosack, a paramedic working at the Health Resources and Services Administration. They then move in to a conversation with Richard Huff, journalist and chief of an EMS volunteer organization and talk about EMS being beyond just a transport service.

This week on the MedicCast, Jamie Davis, the podmedic, provides a presentation on the recent International Roundtable on Community Paramedicine conference held at Vail, Colorado. The IRCP started when about 50 delegates from Australia, Canada, Scotland and the United States came together and in Nova Scotia to share ideas on integrating rural EMS providers into rural health care delivery systems. Now, the IRCP is on its 6th Convention which was held at Vail, Colorado. Learn from his coverage what exactly is community paramedicine, what it’s aimed at and how you can start community paramedicine in your region or area and how you can really reach out to the community.
